Choosing a cheap mattress is a very important event. If you are like me, you are looking for quality mattresses at a bargain prices; it’s definitely not a dirt cheap mattress that you’re looking for. Coil springs are the foundation of some cheap mattress; there are two things you must understand about the springs in the one you are going to shop:
1. How many coil springs are in the matress?
A general rule of thumb, the more springs it has the better, one that has 750 coil springs will almost always be better than one with only 400 springs. This is not always true in every case, but for the vast majority of mattresses on sale in an average retail store this is the case. There are mattresses with up to 1000 coils, but you can get away with less and still have made an excellent choice.
2. What type of coil springs are they?
Coil springs come in at least three other types: Hour-glass springs are named because of their shape, and also they have a tendency to become compressed much time which results in the mattress becoming firmer. This type of spring means that your purchase will tend not to last quite as long, meaning you can get some very good deals on this type.
Online Buying Guide a Cheap Mattress
A mattress attains its value from a number of factors that include the quality and value of its build materials. These materials can include springs, foams, fillings, fabrics and even latex and the higher the quality and price of these materials, the more expensive the mattress will be.
Build quality also plays a big part in mattress retail prices. The biggest single difference between a budget mattress and a top of the range mattress is the wear level and life expectancy that you can expect to get from the product.
Cheap mattresses often provide good levels of comfort and perform well, but they have a comparatively short shelf life. Either that a cheap mattress offers no real saving over the duration of its use, or that a cheap mattress offers the opportunity to regularly change the bed allowing replacement with a newer and more advanced mattress - and at no extra cost. One thing that few budget mattresses can offer is a composite construction that incorporates multiple materials like springs and memory foam.
What type of cheap mattress offers the best deal?
Visco elastic memory foam mattresses cover the full price scale from the very cheap to the very expensive. With a visco elastic material the cost is dictated by density with the cheaper memory foams offering lower densities and ultimately a shorter bed life.
High density for a long life (and at a higher price), or low density for a shorter life, but with a more spongy feeling foam.
