How To Move To The UK

    Posted In: Uncategorized by admin

Relocating is a fact of life and something that nearly everyone experiences at some point in their lives. The thought of relocating can be a off-putting prospect for many. Maybe the thought of leaving town sounds like the worst idea ever, let alone your country. You may like the thought of transferring and experiencing life in another country. Although it can be daunting, a move might be required from work - do not fret though because ultimately the experience can be very fufilling.

How to prepare for a move to the UK

England is one of the main countries situated in the United Kingdom. It comprises of Great Britain’s mainland as well as the island’s central and southern portions. With this in mind, there is much to consider when relocating to England. Take some to consider the following points.

    Know where you should live

Relocating to England provides you a lot of choices of where you should live. London will be the destination for many who have decided to move to the UK. Given that it is the capital, if you do live in London you should consider that your budget will need to compensate for the higher rental fees or a larger mortgage to pay off. Instead of moving to London then, you may consider Brighton, Durham or Newcastle. In comparison to the capital, the cost of rent and general costs of living are often cheaper. Of course if you’re relocating to London you will need to hire a London courier or if you’re moving to Brighton, a Brighton courier and so on.

    Getting a working visa

You cannot just relocate to another place with a snap of a finger. You will need to get a visa, not only for yourself but also your family if they are coming as well. The UK Home Office’s website will have a lot of relevant information and will tell you exactly what requirements there will be for getting a visa.

    Getting a new job

While you are busy surfing over the net, extend your research about job opportunities that will await you when you will be moving to England. If you have children, you should consider the right school that will benefit them and preferably be close to where you live.

    Registering with a GP

The first thing you need to do after arriving in the UK to live, is register with a GP (General Practitioner). You can register with a GP either in the Private sector or with the National Health Service. In the UK you are covered by their free healthcare system, which is funded by taxpayer’s money.

    Research the UK

This is one way for you to adapt to the changes that will take place in your life. A move goes beyond hiring a man and van, it requires that learn some of history, culture and tradition of the country and what makes it different to your own. Finding out what the people of England, Wales, Ireland or Scotland like to do in spare time will make your move a lot easier. This will help you adapt to the new community you will live in.

Moving to the UK will require some sacrifices and will not be an easy task. The above points are just a jumping off point if you are serious about a move to the UK and there are of course other things to consider.

This morning I received a flyer through the door about some amazing new discount savings on white bedroom furniture from a local shop in London called, New England Lifestyle. I have been to the shop once or twice before and really liked their stuff.

OK, it was a bit pricy but it was excellent quality. My wife and I bought several items for our house last year from the shop and we will definetly be going back there for more!

Earlier this week a governement advisor responsible for the regeneration of some our countries most blighted parts of England, announced that a tax imposed on empty commercial buildings is threatening to derail efforts to inject new life into un-developed areas of the UK.

Some developers around the country are preapring to walk away from building project as they simply do not want to risk the liability for the tax. It is fair to say that with the current credit crunch, buying and selling uk land has never been harder. Councils from across the country are joining in on campaigns to get the tax repealed. This is truly a devious, ill-though stealth tax from our crooked governement. The government is monitoring the impact of these reforms. There are pleanty of provisions in the legislation for rates to be cut by %50 again depending on the state of the UK economy. To buy land for building is expensive enough but now I cant believe that the government have found yet another way to exploit this for tax purposes.
