Jealousy can be detrimental to your relationships with friends and family. If you pay attention to some of the signs that your relationship with someone is going south, it could help you resolve the problem. Coping with jealousy can be easy if you find a way to fix the relationship.
A lot of times, people project their insecurity onto others as when they feel insecure about what themselves. For example, if you have more intelligence than other people, someone might become jealous of it. They might think of you as cocky, when in reality they just feel insecure that they aren’t as smart as you.
When people are jealous of you they see you as the problem, not their jealousy. Sometimes this problem may occur and if it does you should try and solve it as fast as possible before this person begins to become your enemy. For example, if they begin to think you are cocky they might begin to distance themselves from you and say mean things about you to other people.
This will then create more problems for you later on. If you stop this in a timely manner it will help you and the person that is jealous with you. This is because the other person needs to be aware of his or her insecurity before they can begin to work on it.
You can do this by asking the person what problems they have with you. When they say they think you are cocky respond by asking them why. If they cannot come up with a concrete example ask them why whether they think they are as smart as you.
Then you should begin to ask him or her whether they feel like they aren’t as smart as you. Even if they respond by saying they are equally as smart, reassure them by saying that you think they possess they same amount of intellect as you. This will comfort them and show them that they should not be jealous because of your good qualities.
